Newcastle United will never progress under Mike Ashley

Mike Ashley has been owner of Newcaslte for 13 years now. In that time it’s certainly never been quiet or uneventful on Tyneside. While a top five finish in the 2011/2012 season was achieved, it has been mostly mid-table finishes and relegation fights for the Toon Army. For most part since 2007, Newcastle have not really looked as if there was any progress under way.

Forgotten NUFC Players: Fabrice Pancrate

I hope for this to be the first of many articles on this website in which I shall remind you of a player that perhaps you forgot played for Newcastle United. Fabrice Pancrate is someone who I genuinely forgot about until I was reminded by Newcastle’s Twitter page of his goal in a 2-0 victory against Watford (that was actually a very good strike) back in December 2009. This was his only goal for the Magpies and he was released at the end of the season with a total of one goal and two assists. Newcastle United so far: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

It has been an interesting start to the Premier League season for Newcastle United to say the least. A tough run of fixtures against the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United within the first eight games had them in and amongst the bottom three.

However, with three straight wins against Watford, Bournemouth and Burnley things seem now to be looking up for the Magpies. The club are now up to 13th in the league and have a lot of momentum going into their game against West Ham on Saturday (a club who they have a very good home record against).

So firstly let’s have a look at the positives of Newcastle this season.
