When Macca and Freddie almost worked together

Paul McCartney and Freddie Mercury are two of the biggest names in music history. Both men came from two of the biggest bands the world has ever seen, (McCartney from The Beatles and Mercury from Queen) as well as both having successful solo careers.

Both men’s immense stature and ability to create wonderful music had many (including myself) fantasising about the thought of them working on a song together, maybe even harmonising with one another.

Well, this dream for many music fans almost did become a reality in 1987. McCartney had written a song titled ‘Once Upon A Long Ago’, that he had in mind for Mercury to sing with him. So how did it all nearly happen? Also, how did it never come to be?

Newcastle United so far: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

It has been an interesting start to the Premier League season for Newcastle United to say the least. A tough run of fixtures against the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United within the first eight games had them in and amongst the bottom three.

However, with three straight wins against Watford, Bournemouth and Burnley things seem now to be looking up for the Magpies. The club are now up to 13th in the league and have a lot of momentum going into their game against West Ham on Saturday (a club who they have a very good home record against).

So firstly let’s have a look at the positives of Newcastle this season.
